Title: ‘Moon Child’, Fine Art Photography by Anna Heimkreiter (Self-portrait, 2019)
Location: Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland
About the artwork: I had dreamed of going to Iceland for so many years before it finally happened. It was one of the most beautiful adventures of my first year as a full-time traveler – a friend and I rented a car (in which we also slept) and explored this otherworldly island.
From the first second, I was blown away. I arrived a couple of hours earlier than my friend and as I was driving to the airport to pick him up, I came past those heavenly meadows full of lupine flowers.
It was summer in Iceland, so it never got truly dark – as the moon rose, the world only got tinted in soft pastel colors for some hours and before you knew it, the sun was up again. I had never seen those purple flowers in my life and it was such bliss to become part of them for a little while before continuing my journey. Now I will always remember lupine fields as a moment of magic under the moon.
