Title: ‘Free Spirit’, Illustration Art by Anna Heimkreiter (2021)
From the series: ‘States of Consciousness’, a collection of 7 artworks on plant medicine, psychedelics and the expansion of human consciousness
About the artwork: Together we rise – just as the eagle, a new generation of free-spirited people spread their wings and fly. It is when our ego dissolves that we are ready to expand our minds and enter higher levels of consciousness.
In this series, which mainly focuses on psychedelics, it was important to me to state that you do not need to take mind-altering substances to achieve different states of consciousness. Some people may never feel called to psychedelics, and that is alright. You do not need them to go on a spiritual journey.
However, many ancient techniques, such as meditation and breathwork, can lead to equally powerful results as psychedelics. They are nothing but tools to enter a higher level of consciousness – and no matter how you get there, there is only one underlying message: Your spirit longs to be free. You are meant to be free.
