Title: ‘A Light to Hold Onto’, Fine Art Photography by Anna Heimkreiter (Self-portrait, 2020)
Location: Upper Bavaria, Germany
About the artwork: To me, this piece symbolizes one of the most central concepts of my life: Hope. So often, we encounter darkness in our lives, yet there is a hidden force that carries us through hardships. All we need is a little bit of light to hold onto. Where there is light, there is hope.
It is a choice I make all the time – searching for the lesson instead of seeing my loss, looking for the positive when I could just as well despair. It is your inner light that gives you such incredible strength.
And one of the most magical things is: Lights will find other lights. If you walk through life carried by light, more light will come your way.
And I truly believe that people who follow that path, lightworkers, as they’re also called, have the power to illuminate this dark world of ours in the most beautiful way.
